Untitled poem - by Lindsay/Linnende the Anglophile

Innocence

She is

sheer joy and innocence.

The world has not molded her yet.

She is unblemished,

carefree,

blissfully unaware of

violence and hate and pain.

Her world is not sad

or confusing

or frightening.

It is simple and uncomplicated,

full of hope and happiness.

Sometimes I wonder

at the person she will

become.

But I can only watch her now

and wait.

And I wonder when

it will all disappear.
